About Berwyn News

Hi,

Let me introduce you to a new voice in the community – the Berwyn News.

Advanced Journalism students at Dominican University (neighbors in River Forest) are reporting the news in Berwyn and posting their work on this site this Fall and Winter. Another group of students reported Berwyn in 2009. You can see their archived work at www.berwynnews2009.wordpress.com

We chose Berwyn because it is an exciting, dynamic place whose residents have many stories to tell.

Check the Berwyn News regularly, or just sign up for the RSS feed.

Thanks,

John Jenks, Journalism Professor, Dominican University

Dear Dr. Jenks & Advanced Journalism Students:

Congratulations on your Berwyn News site. You chose a very colorful city that is rich in history, people and politics. I am sure you will not be at a loss for topics to cover.

Much success with this project and your futures in journalism.

Good luck, but you mispelled Cermak. (Only 1 “c”)

  3. Well done piece by Angela Romano in today’s print edition of Triblocal—on The Children’s School. Thorough reporting—a rarity these days in journalism.

Congratulations on the good work being done on the site and the favorable reactions to it! I teach a unit on Berwyn in my sophomore seminar on Global Chicago, and Berwyn is a fascinating city to study! Prof. Hseu
